Too Fast!

On Saturday the 7th Eli turned 6 months old.
These last 6 months have gone way too fast. Trust me there have been many of those LONG days where I just wish he could talk to tell me what he wanted or that he could walk so I didn't have to carry him, the diaper bag and whatever else I needed to grab. But on Sunday afternoon when Eli was taking a nap after church Troy and I tiptoed in his room just to watch him sleep I think we both got a little emotional thinking about how big he really is getting. He is not our little newborn any more. It makes you realize that yes it can be extremely hard at times but how important it is to not to wish another day away. This is really such a fun age. Right now my favorite thing is going to get him out of his crib in the mornings. I love how once he sees me he will start smiling and laughing, he gets so excited. He is mastering baby food quite well. He has liked just about everything we have given him. Like I said in previous posts he LOVES to play peek-a-boo. Some of his favorite toys are measuring cups a big mixing spoon and a very colorful giraffe. Eli also gets very excited when his daddy comes home. It is so sweet to see him raise his arms in the air and get a huge smile on his face when Troy walks in the room. I could probably go on and on about what an amazing little guy he is. But I won't and just show some pictures instead because I know that's what everybody likes to see!
--Oh we took him for his 6 month check-up he now weighs 18.12 lbs
and is 27 inches long--

Playtime

Now that Eli sits up he has a whole different prospective of his once favorite rain forest gym
"Story time"
First time drinking juice.
It is a tradition in my family that when you turn 6 months you get a cupcake. So on Sunday after family dinner we let Eli dig in. He absolutely LOVED it. It took him a little bit to figure out exactly what was going on but once he did we had to literally pull him away from the mess.
This is another one of Eli's new favorite games. If he starts fussing all you have to do is make a tent over him and he is fine. He is such a little boy.
Swinging at the park.
I cannot wait till Spring!!

I can't believe he's really 6 months old! I can remember thinking with Benjamin as we hit "mile-markers" - this is the best stage... and each time it gets better and better!

Oh Steph, what a cutie! You are so right; the days are long but the years will fly by in an instant.

Oh and in my family we have a tradition where they get their first cupcake when they cut their first tooth.
